The primary reason you attended college was to obtain skill sets leading to better job opportunities. A degree does not guarantee a job - and not all degrees are created equal. Fortunately, Pamplin Career Services as created a number of unique opportunities to assist you in securing an internship and/or job. Using these services while a student, offers a tremendous advantage versus other job seekers.

  • Business Horizons is the annual job fair for Virginia Tech Pamplin students. For the last 28 years in September, 2,000 students and 150+ employers assemble to connect face-to-face.
  • Hokies4Hire is a free job board for employers to post directly to students.
  • Onsite Company Visits are designed to bring Virginia Tech and its students to the employer for a time of information exchange, as well as, a branding and recruiting strategy discussion. See a sample video from a recent visit.
  • The Career Connect eNewsletter is a periodic communication tool that shares employer messages about events, programs and other opportunities hosted by Career Services for students to attend and act upon. All issued are archived.
  • Company Days in the Atrium are designed to offer employers a free-unique branding opportunity within the business school lobby. Students visit employer booths between classes to gain more information and inquire about jobs or internships.
  • "Becoming a Perfect Job Seeker" is a model created for job seekers to use to obtain that hard to find job or internship. The model breaks down the search process into phases and understandable steps.
  • Our Facebook Fan Page enables students to interact and obtain time-sensitive information on employment opportunities.
  • Calendar of upcoming events is distributed so students can plan their weeks and semesters by attending various on-campus events and programs.
  • COMING SOON - through the generosity of Dominion, a lead-generating web application is being created to more efficiently and effectively connect employers and students from your office, dorm or mobile device.
