Pamplin Ambassador Program
Are you Pamplin Proud? Are you interested in sharing your experiences in Pamplin and at Virginia Tech with prospective high school students? The Undergraduate Programs Office selects up to 7 well-rounded students to serve as Pamplin Ambassadors beginning late Spring 2010. These Ambassadors will help in recruiting high school students to Virginia Tech and the Pamplin College of Business.
The following activities are included in the responsibilities of the Pamplin Ambassadors. Other events may arise throughout the year in which the Ambassadors will be asked to participate.
- Admissions Open House events in the Fall semester
- Pamplin Preview or similar event in the Spring semester
- Communication with the high school where you graduated
- Mentoring new and prospective students
- Summer orientation, if in Blacksburg
- Assisting with college information sessions when available
- Assisting with special advising session during course request
- Serve as a conduit for undergraduate issues in the Pamplin College of Business
To be eligible to apply, you must be a rising sophomore, junior or senior in Pamplin, and have at least a 3.0 grade point average. We are looking for outgoing students who are enthusiastic about their education and the opportunities available to them through the Pamplin College of Business. Excellent communication skills and a great attitude are necessary. Ideal candidates will have explored study abroad opportunities and extracurricular activities within Pamplin and Virginia Tech. A resume is required.
